The Three Instagram Features You Should Be Using In Your Marketing Strategy

Have you ever tried selling on Instagram by simply posting your pics and videos and then nothing happened? No questions, no DMs, no link clicks, no sales. You see other people posting and somehow their marketing strategies works for them so you start thinking “why aren’t those strategies working for me?” At this point you’re just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks.

If you’ve ever felt this way, it’s because your audience is numb to your content. They’ve seen it all before so to them what you’re posting on your feed seems like nothing special. And if it’s nothing special, they’re definitely not sticking around to ask questions much less buy.

The solution is to shake up your content and come at them from another angle. So here are the 3 Instagram features every business should be using in their Marketing Strategy:

1. Reels:

That’s right, reels aren’t just for dancing and making funny videos. You can turn this Instagram feature into a powerful marketing tool as well. Since reels are new, Instagram is pushing them more than ever which means you get to reach more people with the same amount of effort as a regular feed post. My last reel got 912 views and 5 follows after just 1 day. Compare that to a normal video on my feed which usually stays around 200 – 300 views. And reels last much longer too. My reels from a month ago are still getting views. That definitely won’t happen with a regular feed post.

2. IG Stories:

I know, I know. You’re already “using” stories. Sorry, but sharing your feed post to your story doesn’t count as using stories as part of an effective marketing strategy. Start using stories to humanize your brand. Show your audience a more candid view of your business and let them get to know you better. Use stickers that allow your audience to interact with you in order to start warming them up to buy. Many sales come from stories, so make sure you’re not just doing the bare minimum of sharing your feed post to stories.

3.  Instagram Live:

Yup, the big scary guy: Live video! So many people are scared out of their minds when they think about going live. But guess what? Live is where a tons of sales go down. And that’s because your audience gets to build a deeper connection with you and your brand. This means they’re able to know, like, and trust you more quickly and easily which then translates to an audience that wants to buy from you. Live streaming is one of the most popular ways making income. It’s been like that for years and it’s certainly not going away any time soon. Don’t leave money on the table by missing out on going Live.

If you’re neglecting these features, you’re definitely running the risk of blending into the crowd and getting forgotten by your audience. And remember, business thrives on getting noticed.
